Bitcoin broke through its current price ceiling on hump day, snapping a six-day losing streak.
After a session low of $38,235.74, Bitcoin/USD surged above its resistance level at $40,000 today as crypto prices rebounded.
Bitcoin/USD has risen nearly 9% since the time of writing. It reached an intraday high point of $42,352.69
This is the highest level Bitcoin has traded in over a week. It was last Friday when prices were heading to a support level of $37,000.
Wednesday’s price surge comes as the 14 day RSI broke through its resistance point at 46.70 and is now tracking at 55.10.
Bulls will most likely try to reclaim the $45,000 ceiling if the price continues to rise. This is the first attempt since March 2nd.
Ethereum
ETH was in a consolidation streak for the past four sessions. It finally broke away from this floor and is now up by more than 6%.
As of today, ETH/USD was trading at $2.739.56, slightly lower than the peak of $2.761.80.
The chart shows that today’s surge brought the price of ethereum to $2,800, its interim resistance level.
This will likely be the biggest obstacle to bulls reaching $3,000 and the upcoming RSI ceiling at 50.75.
Bulls will be buoyed likely by the 10-day and 25 day moving averages that look set to cross soon.
